Middle School Informaton
LVS Middle School (Grades 6-8) Live online classes are daily, Monday through Thursday, led by highly qualified certified teachers. Teachers engage with students individually through bi-weekly one-on-one conferences to provide additional academic support. These conferences are mutually and collaboratively agreed upon by the homeroom teacher and learning coach/student prior to the start of the semester. Math, ELA, science, and social studies courses are offered at the middle school level. Math and ELA interventions are available weekly to provide additional support for students.
Student Expectations: Grades 6-8 students are expected to be engaged in live classes daily or watch recorded lessons, complete assigned lessons, and attend conferences with their homeroom teacher as scheduled. Students are expected to spend 25-40 hours each week attending live class sessions or watching recorded lessons and completing assigned class work.
Parent/Learning Coach Expectations: The Parent/Learning Coach is expected to support the student on daily assigned lessons, which average 25-40 hours each week outside of live class lessons. It is important for the Learning Coach to recognize the need for appropriate support, modifications, and accommodations necessary for the student to be successful in a virtual learning environment. Learning coaches should be available to partner and collaborate with their child's teacher on a bi-weekly basis.
