LVS Elementary (Grades K-5) is a standards-based program. Live classes are taught Monday through Thursday by highly qualified, certified teachers who also engage with students individually through one on one conferences.
Student Expectations: Grades K-5 students are expected to be engaged in daily lessons in addition to attending live online class sessions. Live classes are offered twice a day, once in the morning and again in the afternoon, to provide attendance flexibility. Students can expect to be in a live class session for approximately 1.5 hours each day. Live classes taught consist of math, ELA, science, and social studies. Math and ELA interventions are offered daily for students who need additional support. Students are required to attend a bi-weekly, individualized conference with their teacher. This is set up collaboratively between parent and teacher prior to beginning classes. Outside of live classes, students should expect to spend 18-20 hours each week extending on school work.
Parent/Learning Coach Expectations: A Parent/Learning Coach is expected to support the student on daily assigned lessons, which range between 18-22 hours each week. It is important for the Learning Coach to recognize appropriate support, modifications, and accommodations necessary for the student to be successful in a virtual learning environment. Learning coaches should be available to partner and collaborate with their child's teacher.
