High School Clubs

LVHS Clubs

A great way to get connected with your fellow LVHS students is by participating in our clubs. These sessions are hosted virtually and typically meet on Fridays.  Times and links are in the Schoology LVS 9-12 calendar.

Below are descriptions of the clubs at LVHS - which one(s) is perfect for you?

AMP Club
AMP Club:  AMP Club is the Art, Music, and Poetry/Photography Club. We are a group of creative individuals who enjoy anything involving the Fine Arts. The 2nd Friday of each month is Art Open Studio. Students will gain inspiration from artists across the globe and different eras. The 4th Friday of each month is Open Mic. Students will get the opportunity to share their musical and writing talents over the mic. There are a variety of activities including hands-on projects, virtual tours, and special guest artists.  Participants can choose to share their own artistic expressions and endeavors in a safe and supportive environment.

Coffee House Night
Coffee House Night is hosted by AMP Club where it is a night to showcase our students’ talents (Art, Music, Poetry, Photography, etc.) in a virtual classroom. Both Middle School and High School students are invited to attend to showcase their talents with their fellow students.

e-Cybermission
Students in grades 6-9 may earn dollars in savings bonds by attempting to solve an actual problem using math and science! Teams of three to four students in the same grade level with recommendations from teachers form a team, choose a problem of interest, and then use the scientific method to test their solution.

Game Club

Game Club is a fun club where we explore various online gaming sites, STEM activities, Hour of Code, Whiteboard game, Game Design challenges and Minecraft. We invite you to join us if you love technology and gaming.

GSA
GSA is the Gender Sexuality Alliance Club that is an open and safe place for ALL students. GSAs are school clubs in which students can talk and learn about sexual orientation, gender identity, and some of the issues that surround them. They’re set up just like any other student group, with a faculty advisor and regular meetings.  Everyone is welcome—lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQQ) students, as well as straight students, students with LGBTQQ families, and students who don’t have or need a label for their sexual orientations or gender identities.

Hour of Code
The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. Anyone, anywhere can organize an Hour of Code event. One-hour tutorials are available in over 45 languages. No experience needed. Both Middle School and High School students are invited to attend in a virtual classroom.

NHS
The National Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  Membership in NHS is by invitation only.

Prayer, Bible, Jesus (PB&J)
PB&J is a student-led, inspirational group that meets once a month. During meetings, discussions center around real-life issues and how they apply to daily living. The group also seeks ways to inspire others through community outreach projects. All are welcome!

eSports Team
This new club is still under development.  Your advisory teacher will get you the updated information as soon as it becomes available.

Student Council
Student Council's mission is to create the strongest, most involved and active school community. It works to enhance student life, build school spirit and pride, strengthen the overall school and contribute to charitable causes and to the community. Independently and in collaboration with various school groups: it initiates, sponsors and directs school and social events, activities, campaigns and programs from the student perspective. Annually it strives to create both a fun and memorable school year and to ultimately leave a legacy for future councils to build upon.

Theater Club
With it’s origination year being the 2020-2021 school year, our theatre club has been booming with excitement and new ideas for this school year.  There will be opportunities for those students that like to improv; this troupe will meet on Friday’s and perform several times throughout the school year.  We will provide mini-camps for elementary and middle school students.  The big production will be rehearsed throughout the school year and then performed in April.  This is a student led club with amazing leadership and organization.  If you are interested in being on stage and entertaining….this is the club for you!
