Elementary
Elementary students at Lawrence Virtual School benefit from the combination of structure and flexibility. Student success is a product of the student, parent/learning coach, and certified LVS teacher working together.
- Daily structure of teacher-led live online class times combined with flexible at-home work time in math, language arts, science, and social studies.
- Live online classes for up to one hour on most school days (students and LVS teacher working together)
- Daily work assigned by LVS teacher totaling 15-20 hours per week (student and learning coach working together)
- The LVS teacher will expect samples of assigned work to be submitted for review on a regular basis
- Regular student conferences with the LVS teacher to check in and check progress
- Additional support offered for students includes:
- Extra skill instruction and practice
- Enrichment offerings
- Special education services are provided in accordance with Individual Education Plans (IEP) and 504 Plans
- Other offerings include class meetings, online clubs, in-person field trips
LVS students will use a variety of online resources, combined with print materials sent out to student homes.
- Current curriculum resources managed within the Schoology system, include:
- Benchmark Advance - English Language Arts (ELA)
- Zearn - Math
- IXL - Math and ELA
- Mystery Science
- Character Strong
- Students are provided an iPad 9 device from Lawrence Public Schools to complete daily work upon request.
Students are expected to attend class, complete online work, and attend conferences.
Parent/learning coaches are expected to guide and support students in daily online lessons and collaborate with their assigned LVS teacher, as needed.

Once you log in with your student's district credentials (contact your teacher for assistance with this), you will find Schoology and other assigned applications to access lessons.
